Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Cinematik runs www.cinematik.app and the websites of the film programmes we operate, including Escapes (escapes.cinematik.app). We want everyone to be able to find a screening, book tickets and enjoy the film, whatever their access needs.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We build accessibility into the pages themselves rather than relying on an add-on tool. You can use these sites with your own browser settings and assistive technology, including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom and text resizing, and high-contrast or dark modes.

How we check

Every change to our public pages is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 AA before it goes live. This covers the home page, event, film and venue pages, the location search, booking and checkout. We also audit the live sites with Google Lighthouse and fix what it finds.

Known limitations

Automated testing cannot catch everything, and some parts of the sites rely on services we do not fully control:

  • Embedded trailers are played through YouTube. Captions depend on what the film's distributor has provided.
  • Card payments are taken in a secure form provided by Stripe.
  • Venue maps are provided by a third-party map service. Every venue is also listed in text with its full address.
  • Our help centre (FAQs) is hosted by a third-party service.
  • Some older event descriptions may include images or links that are not fully described.
  • Account pages for signed-in customers have not yet had the same level of testing as the public pages.

Accessibility at the cinema

Escapes and many of our events include relaxed screenings. Each venue page shows that cinema's accessibility information where the venue has provided it. At checkout you can tell us about access requirements or assistance you need, and add a CEA card for a free companion ticket where the cinema accepts it.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on our sites is difficult to use, or you need information in a different format, please email support@cinematik.app. Tell us the page address and what went wrong, and we will help you book and work on a fix.

We review this statement whenever we make significant changes to the sites.
